Description
The late afternoon sun shines on the grassland near Sonoita, Arizona. This high steppe elevation desert, within an hour's drive of the core of metro Tucson, is a completely different biome and has little resemblance to the lower Sonoran Desert. The lesser-seen side of the Santa Rita Mountains and Mount Wrightson are in the distance. A lone tree and fence adorn this rural landscape. This was taken not far from Sonoita and the Empire Ranch area. Mount Wrightston is the highest point of the Santa Rita Mountains and is rising in the distance.
