Description
The nearly full "Blue Flower" moon of May, 2019, rises above the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson, Arizona, as seen from Saguaro National Park. I was lucky enough to capture a silhouette of Saguaro dactus atop a ridge in the range. The Saguaro is an iconic feature of the Sonoran Desert of the Southwest and its silhouette in front of a bright moon adds to the dramatic mystery of moonlight over the landscape. This was captured with a 500 mm lens.

The deep space background with the luster of a pearl on the moon is stunning. Then the finishing touch of the cactus. Beautiful!

You knocked my socks off with this one and I wasn't even wearing any.... just sayin'. LOL This is utterly fabulous, Chance. I love the silhouettes of the cactus. It's so perfect it's almost like standing right there. WOW. L/F Featured in American Desert Southwest.

Thank you so much Jane! It had been my hope to capture the silhouette in the perfect position so it appears my efforts paid off!
