A Saguaro Cactus stands against the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, Arizona on a stormy, moody and dramatic winter day. The Sonoran Desert landscape of the foreground is painted by strong sunlight as the background is seen in dark, blue shadow. A bit of snow can be seen atop the Finger Rock formation and Mount Kimball of the Catalinas. The American Southwest is great to see in the winter as demonstrated by the dynamics here. Pima County in southern Arizona has sweeping vistas, diverse plant life and winter weather that produces stunning highlights, shadows and contrasts such as that seen here.
