Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
Description
Inspired by the recent flyovers of aircraft from Davis Montham Air Force Base, I have painted the skyline of Tucson as seen from the air at dusk, just when the lights begin coming on.
This painting has some impressionism and a little imagination to it, but is fairly accurate in its depiction of how Tucson would appear from the air facing west (and probably with binoculars since the background mountains have telephoto compression). I have depicted several iconic landmarks of the area - the Kitt Peak Observatory, A Mountain, Tumamoc Hill, downtown, Arizona Stadium, El Con Mall and Reid Park, outlines of several of the Old Pueblo's major streets, and of course, the A 10 that lives at the air base zooming by in the top right corner.

Waaay back in the mid 1970s I used to paint Tucson city light night scenes on Custom Vans and Pickups, Chance. Nice to see that our night scenes still inspire artworks, Chance!....fav / like

Thank you so much Jerry. This is one of my favorites as it is almost whimsical but still subtly includes so many Tucson landmarks. I really had fun with it!

The viewpoint of this splendid, textured work reveals thoughts of the spirit and beyond the realm of this earth. Wonderful work my friend. F/L.
