Description
This is looking west toward Baboquivari Peak from Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge in the Altar Valley of Pima County southwest of Tucson, Arizona. This remote grassland offers views of the Baboquivari Mountains such as this one, and I thought these scenic landscape looked best in black and white. There is a little town called Arivaca not far away that I never knew existed - it is most easily accessed from Arivaca Road south of Sahurita and Green Valley at a turn off in Amado. Another highway traverses the valley, AZ State Route 289, that originates off the Ajo Highway in Three Points on Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation Land. This peak is very holy to Tohono O'Odham nation.

The mood and atmosphere in this desert scene have a nostalgic longing with the use of black and white values you used here Chance. F/L.
